Exelus Standard (1yr) No-Fault Warranty for Crown Laptops

This agreement must be purchased on the same invoice and in conjunction with an Exelus Standard (1yr) Warranty extending from the date of shipment of the Crown Notebook.

This agreement covers repair or replacement of notebooks that are accidentally damaged. It does not cover intentional damage, fire, loss, or theft. Cosmetic damage (i.e. cracks, scratches, case wear, etc.) is not covered. This agreement covers the components comprising the base notebook unit and power adapter only. It does not cover the battery, carrying case, port replicator, software (to include improperly configured Operating Systems and/or viruses), or any other accessories or peripheral products. Only damage that affects the functionality of the unit is covered. Only the original LCD panel is eligible for a one-time replacement LCD panel (due to accidental damage) during the term of this agreement. Replacement components are covered for the remainder of the warranty period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer.

During the term of this agreement, a component that has been accidentally damaged will be repaired or replaced with new or reconditioned component(s) of equivalent or better performance. The decision to repair or replace will be at Exelus’ sole discretion. The damaged unit must be shipped to Exelus under a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Contact Crown Technical Services 24/7 toll-free telephone line, 888-551-5585 to obtain an RMA number prior to shipment. Product received by Exelus without an RMA number will be refused. Shipment to Exelus will be at the customer’s expense. Return shipping will be at Exelus’ expense and will be sent via an equivalent method to the inbound shipment (e.g. inbound overnight = outbound overnight) if user has a return address in the 50 states within the U.S.A.. Exelus WILL NOT SHIP TO ADDRESSES OUTSIDE OF THE United States of America (other than APO/FPO addresses). For APO/FPO addresses you will pay the shipping and insurance both ways. Exelus will make every attempt to complete repairs within the time frame stated in the accompanying warranty document exclusive of shipping time. However; dependent on the seriousness and extent of the physical damage, the repair or replacement will be accomplished within a period of time deemed reasonable by Exelus.

Some problems or defects may require the reformatting or replacement of a hard disk drive. Under such circumstances, all data on the disk drive may be lost. Exelus shall NOT be liable for the loss or destruction of data or media resulting from the services performed hereunder under any circumstances. The user is solely responsible for the security of user’s data. It is strongly advised that user implement and maintain a daily routine to backup data to minimize the loss of data in the event of equipment failure.

This warranty is a limited warranty and; as the sole remedy for a breach of this warranty, Exelus will, at its discretion, repair or replace defective components with new or reconditioned components of equivalent or better performance during the warranty period. Exelus will restore the system unit to its original operating configuration at no additional cost when the system unit is delivered freight prepaid to the servicing facility.

EXELUS IS NOT LIABLE FOR AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL, DIRECT OR INDIRECT, STATUTORY, PUNITIVE OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFTIS OR LOSS OF USE, BASED ON ANY LEGAL THEORY, OR FOR ANY SOFTWARE OR DATA THAT MAY BE LOST DUE TO HARDWARE FAILURE OR SERVICING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS WARRANTY.

In order to take advantage of this warranty, the user must provide a valid proof of warranty purchase. Hardware additions, software not preinstalled by Crown, upgrades, modifications, or configuration changes not authorized by Exelus are not covered by this warranty.

EXCEPT FOR THE WARRANTIES SET FORTH HEREIN, EXELUS DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM A COURSE OF DEALING, USAGE, OR TRADE. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT MAY BE IMPOSED BY APPLICABLE LAW ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights which may vary from state to state.
