Nvidia Quadro FX 2500M: What is it and who is it for?

The most expensive graphics chip available to PowerNotebooks is an nVidia Quadro 2500M. It is a modified version of the 7900 for better performance in professional OpenGL and Direct3D applications. Such applications include 3D modeling and animation, CAD, and video effects. For the right applications, the performance is much higher than a regular 7900. For games, the performance is about the same.

For a gamer, there is no advantage of getting the Quadro, but for those that run appropriate 3D content creation applications, a lot of time may be saved during the rendering and workflow processes, speeding up the entire project and improving efficiency and profitability.

The laptops you can purchase with the Quadro FX 2500M are the Sager 5760, 9750, and 9890.
